Memory of the Walls

Block Printing, ink and words

For the third itineration of The Memory of the Walls program taking place in Lusaka, a block printing workshop led by artist Maingaila Muvundika and founder of Zambia Belonging, Sana GinwallA took place at teh gallery everyday lusaka. participants were encouraged to carve their own lino blocks or intervene in linocuts made by Muvundika to create their own compositions. For some, this workshop was a space where their first lino block was carved, inked and printed. We are extremely grateful to be able to share our unshakeable love for printmaking. Some of the prints will be featured in our next exhibition which will focus on the Zambia Belonging counter-archive. The workshop intersected  exhibition “Mwaiseni Mukwai” a solo by Maingaila Muvundika which was grounded in this very materiality and process.
